Copy Master
Automatically copy trades from one of your accounts to the rest, even across different platforms (MT5, cTrader, TopstepX, NinjaTrader).
Copy Master replicates the trades of one of your «master» accounts (the one generating signals) onto one or more «follower» accounts. When the master opens or closes a trade, TradingNote repeats it on the followers within seconds. The typical use case: you have a tuned algorithm running on one account and want to mirror it onto your funded accounts without trading each one by hand.
Copy Master works between YOUR own accounts. It's not a social signal network: you copy from one of your accounts to another of your accounts, with full control over each follower's size and risk.

How to set up copying
- 1
Choose the master account
It's the account whose trades you want to replicate: typically the one with the algorithm or the strategy that already works for you.
- 2
Add the follower accounts
Select one or more of your accounts that will copy the master. They can be on the same platform or on different platforms.
- 3
Configure symbol mapping and size
If the platforms use different symbol names, the mapping links each master symbol to its equivalent on the follower. Also set the size: fixed lot or risk percentage.
- 4
Activate the subscription
Once active, each new master trade is copied to the followers within seconds.
Symbol mapping across platforms
The technical challenge of cross-platform copying is that each broker names instruments its own way. TradingNote resolves the follower's symbol automatically when it can, and lets you force it manually when it can't:
| Case | How it resolves |
|---|---|
| Same platform (MT5 → MT5) | Automatic. It recognizes the same symbol even with different suffixes (EURUSD vs EURUSD.m, .pro, .ecn…). |
| Same family (cTrader → cTrader, NT8 → NT8) | Automatic. Same symbol name on both sides. |
| Cross-platform (MT5 → TopstepX, cTrader → NT8) | Manual. You tell it which master symbol matches which on the follower (e.g. US30 ↔ the Dow futures contract). |
How size is calculated on the follower
The follower always opens the fixed size you define, regardless of the master's. Simple and predictable, ideal when master and follower have very different capital.
The follower sizes itself to risk a % of its own capital on each trade, using the stop-loss distance and the instrument's real specs at THAT broker. So a 50,000 funded account and a 5,000 personal one risk proportionally the same, not the same number of lots.
Size mapping is where most people slip up. Copying «1 lot = 1 lot» across different instruments or brokers can multiply your risk without you noticing. Use risk percentage whenever accounts have different capital, and check the symbol's specs on the follower before activating.
Combine Copy Master with Risk Management and Groups: group your funded accounts as followers and apply the same daily loss caps to all of them, so no copy ever risks the challenge.
